No Man's Sky: Forsaken

Hello,

Last month’s COSMOS update saw a huge number of Travellers old and new journeying to the No Man’s Sky universe to celebrate our ten year anniversary. Space has become more alive and varied than ever, and it's been so nice to see players creating Star Bases, owning Space Stations and creating alliances. Our next update FORSAKEN fittingly for Halloween allows players to explore the darker side of the universe! Full patch notes here.

It also brings No Man’s Sky to iPad and iPhone for the first time. Includes all 40+ updates so far, including FORSAKEN on day one! It’s free to try right now on the App Store.

In FORSAKEN players will begin searching for rare haunted tech or biological horrors. Finding these means visiting the spookiest parts of No Man’s Sky, like derelict hulks, abandoned freighters, dig sites on planets or infested outposts.

These strange and haunted mementos have attracted a number of enigmatic traders from all corners of the universe, all set upon gathering the samples for their collections, and looking to trade.

Any Traveller brave enough to venture into these dangerous wrecks may salvage mementos and trade them with collectors for new biomechanical corvette modules. Allowing players to make beautiful and strange corvette exteriors, and lean fully into that creepy and organic side of sleek sci-fi ships.

There’s also an array of new cockpits to uncover for ship building, and a new interior set inspired by a distant galaxy.

Not only can you trade for new ship types, but also new weapon and space suit styles. Determined scavengers will be rewarded with the grotesque new larva tank helmet, and even a wriggling grub cannon multi-tool (for the right quantity of preserved grubs).

FORSAKEN is particularly crammed with new features and gameplay though. There’s new postal missions - which sees players becoming a delivery driver across the galaxy. There’s a radial menu for weapon select, and a new minimal HUD mode. Both long requested quality of life features, as well as dozens of accessibility tweaks as part of our support for iOS.

With the advent of FORSAKEN, we’ve also added seamless warping to nearby stars. Just lock on to the brightest stars in the space sky and begin travelling - and travel seamlessly there without having to ever visit the galactic map.

Earlier this month we opened pre-orders for No Man’s Sky on iPhone and iPad and are pleased to announce that, from today, iPhone 11 owners and above, and 3rd Generation iPad Air owners and above can try the first bit of the game for free.

We’re really proud of the wild list of technical and usability achievements required to bring something like this in to land, from the custom-made touch controls, attention to battery life and thermodynamics, right through to the single-download 4GB file-size!

And if that isn't enough, we've been busy on the merch front too!

It’s been a busy 10th anniversary year for the No Man’s Sky team, and FORSAKEN is their fifth (!) major update (after REMNANT, XENO ARENA, THE SWARM, and COSMOS) and we’re still bring the universe to ambitious new platforms like iPhone and iPad. We’re already deep in planning for what sort of craziness we can get up to in 2027.

Full patch notes for FORSAKEN are available here.

Our journey continues.
